Wardogs Changes Driver XP and Revokes Lonestar Bonus

Bulkhead has adjusted parts of Wardogs Season 2 after a Driver-role exploit accelerated progression and prompted complaints from players in the early-access FPS. The changes target both the XP advantage and a Lonestar cash and XP bonus that the developer says it should have reconsidered after players objected.

As MassivelyOP reported, players discovered the Driver exploit shortly after Season 2 began, using it to accumulate progression XP and reach higher-tier unlocks, including a new tank, unusually quickly. Bulkhead adjusted Driver XP earnings, removed the exploit and issued bans to players who took extreme advantage of it.

Progression changes and player fallout

  • Driver progression: Bulkhead changed XP earnings after fixing the exploit that allowed rapid progression.
  • Exploit enforcement: Players who abused the method to an extreme degree were banned.
  • Lonestar bonus: The faction's cash and XP bonus was revoked after objections from players.
  • Player impact: Some players said real-world commitments kept them from the short-lived progression window, leaving them feeling behind.

Bulkhead's official Season 2 backend update gives more detail on the adjustment: the studio says Driver progression had been running ahead of other role tracks and that a temporary backend correction changed the spacing of logistics streaks. It also describes the Lonestar bonus as an experiment that drew progression-focused players to the faction and affected team balance.

The complaints have not ended with the changes. Players continue to debate whether the adjustments address the advantage and whether another wipe would be needed; the situation echoes other live-service reversals, such as Albion Online's rollback after player backlash.

Bulkhead has also outlined plans for later Limited Mode servers, but that feature is not part of the current rollback. The studio's update targets a mid-season release, leaving the immediate question of whether the progression corrections will satisfy players who missed the early grind.
